Maybe a “low flow” shower head?
Your shower head is probably clogged up.
many possible reasons, from pipe obstruction to narrow incoming pipes from the street. The water has to travel upward to hit the shower head, so naturally the sink faucets work better.
I had the same problem a while back. I finally traced the problem to my stationary sink in my basement. I have an old style faucet that mixes the hot and cold water into a spout that has a threaded head that allows me to connect a garden hose to it. I usually leave both spigots open because the nozzle on the hose shuts the flow off. By leaving the valves on the spigot open, this allowed the hot water to feed back through the cold line, causing a drop in the hot water pressure to the rest of the house. By turning the basement spigot off when not in use, the problem was solved.
Remove the shower head first.
Mineral deposits can easily clog the small holes in a shower head.
Soaking the shower head in cider-vinegar is an effective way to disolve the mineral deposits. Cider vinegar is more acidic than distilled vinegar, making it more effective.
If the pressure loss is only in the shower head, it is unlikely that the problem is something other than the shower itself.
shower heads are clogged, take them off and check for debris, if hard water soak in vinegar or replace.
I have the same problem with my bathroom sinks. I have a dual sink counter. One sink is fine. The other has low hot water flow, good cold water flow. The single lever faucet valve is bad or misaligned. Had to replace the cartridge. I have Moen faucets. This may be a common problem with this type of design.
For some others: It isn’t the shower head. He has low shower head flow BEFORE he switches the diverter valve to the shower head.
Clean the shower head filter screens. People do not think of that, it will get plugged up over time.
