Every time I flush the toilet or run the water in my bathroom upstairs I smell a foul sewer kind of smell downstairs right under where the bathroom is. The house was built in 1890 and everything is falling apart. Can anyone tell me why I have this smell even when I am just brushing my teeth. Also unless I was hallucinating a few months back when I was brushing my teeth I saw little off white colored worms, kind of like maggots coming from the bathroom faucet. There were only about 2 or so but so weird. Is this possible? Thank you for all your help.

Just installed a new faucet for my bathroom sink. When first went to test it, the water pressure was fine but there was a slight leak underneath. (Seemingly from the drain and trap) Tightened things up underneath and tried again. Now the water pressure is almost nothing (only for the sink everything else is fine) and there is still a slight leak but nothing like it was before. Any suggestions?

The faucet is almost 5 years old and came with the new house.
I removed the handle , however, I could not remove the cover to expose the interior parts. Delta sent me a cartridge to replace, but no instructions how to install
cheked the delta website. no instruction how-to dis-assemble

I need to replace a cheap brass-plated, single nob/lever bathroom sink faucet and amazingly they don’t have a single one at either HomeDepot or Lowe’s!. Where can I get one? (No general answers please–provide a direct link or specific store name please) Thx

I had to re-plumb the pluming in my guest bath room ended up damaging an existing tile where new faucet is being replaced. The tile replacement can not be made since the manufacture no longer carried the exact same time. I could fell the gap (hole) with a tile/kitchen/bath white culk but still would not look the same ore near as close as tile. I guess I can paint it over it, but it bit more complicated than that since the time had decorative design on it, can I sand the area once the culk is dried up to shape it to the design then paint it ?? IF I could find a matching paint color to my tile. I have a BIG head ache over this. I know its a small thing, but it really bothers me. I paid over $900 for my new Sink / wall mount faucet plus tile was brand new also. The contractor screwed up and they never returned, so I had to do it yourself fix.

My bathroom sink faucet has a constant drip that is annoying. I had a boyfriend at one time and I asked him about it. He said it wasn’t a big deal. I think he was too lazy to help me fix it. Now it is a constant drip and is annoying besides wasting water. Is there an easy fix? What should I do? I’m not good at these things but I’m learning. Thanks for your help!

This apartment does NOT have a “laundry area” with built in pipes in the wall to hook up a washer and dryer.

All we have is a big square area adjacent to the bathroom, but no washing machine pipes or drain connections (And dryers are not permitted here per our lease) All we have is the adjacent bathroom sink, toilet, and tub, and an outlet to plug into the bathroom for electricity.

So, how do I connect a washing machine?, Do we somehow connect it to the bathroom sink?

And does this limit me to only top loading washing machines? Or can I somehow connect a front-loading washer in this way to the bathroom sink faucet?

Plumbing alterations are NOT permitted on the lease, nor hole in wall, or ANY construction etc., But Washing Machines ARE permitted.

So can I get a front-loader and connect to bathroom sink?

Can I get a top-loader and connect to bathroom sink?

How?

Note: I know nothing about washing machines, not even how they look in the back (All Ive really used before are the old Japanese mini tiny washing machines)

I guess I could use an extension cord to get electricity from one of the bedrooms, maybe? (Instead of using the bathroom outlet)

I had a contractor replace two lighting fixtures, a bathroom sink faucet, new shower enclosure and bathtub faucet. No structural additions or alterations were made. The job is completed. Was I required in NH to get a building permit? I live in Franklin.

they are both the same manufacturer, but the one in my bathroom now is one of those older ones with handle on top that you have to pull up to turn on. I bought one that has handles on both sides without really thinking. The handles are not separate from the faucet part (they are on the same base), and the base is the same size as the one on there now, but I don’t know if it will fit the same! Please help, the plumber is coming tomorrow!

Here’s the deal:
I want to change my bathroom sink faucet. I was able to loosen the cold water nut underneath my sink with a basin wrench. But the hot water nut won’t budge. It is like freakin’ fused. I applied liquid plumber and WD-40, clamped onto it with a vise grips and tried turning the vise grips with a huge wrench. IT WILL NOT BUDGE!! I’m at my wits end!
Any suggestions?
