How can I remove the drain stoppers in my bath tubs?

All bathtubs in my house, you have the screws in close step back and drain the tub. My bathtub drain is still slow because (the hair short and I have long hair, stop) to. I remove the cap. Who knows how? I unscrew and remove the slide, but I can not the real stopper out. I’ve tried and tried to unscrew. I even tried to open a large screwdriver. There must be some “trick” to remove them.
