My eighty six year old mother uses a bench to bathe in our oversized bathtub/shower. There are several grab bars in the surround, but because of the ovesized tub, they tend to be awkward to use or don’t offer good leverage. She also suffers from occasional dizziness and fell while getting out of the tub, so I was looking for something that she could easily reach, was sturdy and had some flexibility in moving if necessary. Let me say I am a harsh critic when it comes to consumer products, and often find them lacking. This is not the case with the SuperPole. It was not difficult to put together, it can be installed almost anywhere, it works wonderfully and while I wouldn’t call it a work of art, it is not unattractive. I did need an extra hand when fitting it between ceiling and floor and getting it level, but it was a largely painless procedure. It is right outside the tub, close to the front and when the bar is in a position parallel to the tub, it is unobtrusive. In my situation, it has the added benefit of being near the toilet, so can be used to raise yourself if need be. My mother loves it and uses it daily. I check periodically to make sure things aren’t getting loose (they’re not) and that is the extent of its maintenance. It has kept my mother independent and has given me peace of mind. Highly Recommended.
