Fear of Bathroom Fans?

Ok, so here is a wierd one for you…..
My boyfriend wants to know if there is an actual term for this….
But I have a fear/phobia of bathroom fans…..
Only if I am alone though….I just don’t like them, I have always been scared of them. The other day I was at his house and he tried to turn the fan on and lock me in the bathroom and I screamed and ran out the door….it just happens.
I know right…it’s really wierd, but just wondering if there is an actaul term. lol.

  1. “Yes I think the term would be idiocy.” Repeat this out loud in Paul Lynde’s voice.

  2. We all have some type of Fear: Remember the little boy (Macaulay Culkin) on “Home aLone” the Furness in the basement was his fear…..

Proper phobia names are scientific terms from the Greek language. Inasmuch as bathroom fans were unknown and impossible in ancient Greece, it is unlikely that there is a term, but if you know anyone who speaks modern Greek you could ask him.

They may sound funny to us, but they don’t sound funny to a Greek. To him, triskaidekaphobia automatically means “fear of the number 13″ and he would say that someone who won’t wear a wedding ring for fear of it getting caught in his power tools at work has “dactyliotraumatophobia” .

    Good Luck!
